Minus 20 degrees celcius this morning. Even my sheep are shivering. As you breath through your nose it all turns to icicles. Not even the dogs wants to go out!
The USA schools close down for the cold days - the Canadian kids go on skiing trips!
Well I'm just starting up this blog again. Not sure how much time I will have - circumstances have changed sooo much. I AM NOW LIVING IN CANADA - my dream came true and I am so thankfull for that. I have 5 kids - 3 step-kids and the 2 of my own. So mostly my house looks like a tornado hit.
Being creative is a luxury.... but it for me it is a neccesisity. I will be posting some oil painting that will be up for buying soon. Winter does it's creative advantages. Happy to be back.

What can be sweeter than 10 Irish Terrier Puppies and me.

"The giraffe the peli and me" - Roald Dhal - I'm reading it at the moment to my son. I took this photo on a boat trip on my birthday in 2009. Watch the pelican eyeing me before catching the fish. :)

On my birthday - 27 feb - we went on a boat cruise in Walvisbay. Dolphins were all around and under the boat. We saw sea-turtles, fed the sea-lion that got onto the boat - (he was called "google"). We ate soooo many oysters and drank sparkling wine. It was such a lovely day. The weather were perfect and the children were amazed. The pelican came and took the fish right out of our hands! How cool is that! I saw much better pics than I actually took, but the hand is definately slower than the eye. :)

Animals big or small they facinate me all. This painted in heat-set oils finished in 2008.
If all people could be taught to appreciate and nurture nature and all it's inhabitants from a very young age, it is my believe that there would be much less wars.
"Live the life youv'e imagined" - Tim H.

This Leopard I finished with heat set oils at the end of last year 2008. I wanted to put up another one I finished of a still life, but it was STOLEN from my class/studio. It took me a while to get over it! All that work just ...gone! I painted this in honour of all the clever leopards out there.

This old tree is in the middle of the semi-desert in ....YES YOU GUESSED....Damaraland. It is the only big tree around. I think the roots must have been blown or maybe even earth erosion by water over hundreds of years? Jeff and a friend gives you an estimate of the size I'm talking about? I wonder where my friend Ken is at this moment? It's the first time in months I'm touching a PC.
